Undergraduate Admission

Most colleges and universities in the United States require standardized testing for undergraduate admissions.  Admissions requirements vary, so be sure to confirm which test(s) you need with the institutions that interest you.

SAT:
SAT a test that measures critical reading, writing, and mathematical abilities.  The SAT Subject Tests measure knowledge in specific subject areas. The SAT is widely accepted at accredited two and four-year colleges and universities in the United States, and hundreds of institutions around the world.  To learn about costs, how to book, test dates and procedures, you need to register.

There are two test centers that administer the SAT in Tanzania:
          The International School of Tanganyika located in Masaki, Dar es Salaam
          The International School of Moshi located in Moshi, Kilimanjaro
          Dar es Salaam International Academy located in Oyster bay, Dar es salaam

ACT: 
a curriculum-based multiple-choice assessment that tests reading, English, mathematics, and science, with an optional essay section.  The ACT is widely accepted at accredited two and four-year colleges and universities in the United States, and hundreds of institutions around the world. The ACT website provides detailed information on registration and testing fees.

There are two test centers that administer the ACT in Tanzania:
          Haven of Peace Academy Located in Kunduchi, Dar es Salaam
          The International School of Moshi located in Moshi, Kilimanjaro

English Language Ability

TOEFL 
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is offered on average three times a month in Tanzania.  The TOEFL website provides information on costs, payment methods, test dates and procedures, as well as useful test preparation information.
There are two test centers that administer the TOFEL in Tanzania:
          The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy located in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.
          The International School of Moshi in Moshi, Kilimanjaro.
Please check individual university websites for specific admission requirements for graduate programs (Master’s, including M.B.A., and Ph.D.) to confirm which exams are required. The TOEFL exam is often required.

Graduate Admission

GRE 
The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) for post-graduate studies is offered multiple times a month in Tanzania.  The GRE website has information on costs, test dates, and useful test preparation info. There is one test center that administers the GRE in Tanzania:
          The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy located in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.
GMAT 
The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) for graduate Business programs.  The GMAT website has information on test dates and procedures.There is one test center that administers the GRE in Tanzania:
          CATS Tanzania Limited, located in Posta on Ohio Street, Dar es Salaam
