International commercial flight options no longer exist in Tanzania. The Government of Tanzania suspended all international scheduled and chartered passenger planes to Tanzania effective April 11.
The U.S. Embassy has confirmed availability of seats on a charter flight leaving Tanzania on May 14. All booking requests must be sent to Rickshaw Travels by 16:00 on Thursday, May 7. As of April 29, the Tanzanian government has announced 480 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There have been 16 confirmed deaths.
U.S. citizens who remain in Tanzania should be prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period. The U.S. government does not anticipate arranging additional repatriation flights in Tanzania at this time.
