February 22, 2016 – U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director, Dr. Tom Frieden, shown here at a Bowser Filling Station with two Tanzanian water truck drivers, examines new pathways to improve chlorination in Dar es Salaam’s water supply by targeting bowsers (trucked water tanks). CDC has supported the Government of Tanzania’s efforts to improve water purification through chlorination as a critical step to prevent infectious diseases such as cholera.
