How it works
The U.S. Embassy is selling surplus movable property (SMP) via a Web Based Electronic Auction. All items are sold on “as is” basis with no guarantee, Duty and all taxes are responsibility of the buyer. The auction will be activated from 1st May 2023 to 2nd May 2023 for viewing and Bidders can start submitting their bids from 3rd May to 7th May. During this period, you may submit bids for available lots of surplus property. Registering and creating a personal account is required to submit a bid. Bids must be submitted in Tshs. Maximum number of bids on one item is stated at each item. Increasing your bids is possible. During the auction you should monitor your bids so you can react on all bids price development. Email for winners will consist of a link to the auction application where you can review your items, after successful login.
How to pay
A bank money transfer/cash deposit to the Embassy bank account or Pay.Gov are the only acceptable form of payment. Transaction must include Auction date, lot number and Unique Identification Number (UID) which can be found at “Winner’s info” auction website section. Payment must be received within one business day following notification of a winning bid. Payment for vehicles must be received within five business days following notification of a winning bid. Items may only be retrieved when successful payment has been received and confirmed by the U.S. Embassy. Receipt of payment is considered complete when the monies reach the U.S. Embassy bank account. It may take more than one day for money to reflect in U.S. Embassy bank. How to pick up
To retrieve your items, you must present the original receipt of bank money transfer/bank pay slip with all required details included. Pick Up date will be from 10th May to 12th May. Any paid items that are not picked up during the scheduled period will be disposed of, and there will be no possibility for their retrieval. In exceptional cases or circumstances, you may arrange a different pick-up date and time by contact through email DarGSONonEXP@groups.state.gov. No refunds will be granted for any uncollected paid items.
