Amy Hart Vrampas, Deputy Chief of Mission to the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam, is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and served most recently as Counselor for Management Affairs to the Philippines.  She has served in management and public affairs positions in Africa, the Middle East, and Near East Asia since joining the Foreign Service in 1999.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service,  Amy Hart Vrampas worked as an educator in various positions overseas and domestic, including as the Director of a language program under the United States Information Agency and as a Peace Corps volunteer.  She speaks French and Greek.  She is a graduate of Indiana University with a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics.

Amy Hart Vrampas is accompanied in Dar es Salaam by her husband, Cosmas Vrampas.  They have two adult children who hope to visit Tanzania during their tour.
