Routine Message: September 1 Protests Postponed

Tanzanian media report that opposition political leaders have postponed nationwide protests previously scheduled for September 1, 2016.

The Embassy urges all U.S. citizens in Tanzania to stay current with media coverage of local events.  U.S. citizens are encouraged to avoid demonstrations or protests and exercise caution when in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
