U.S. Citizen Services

American Citizen Services (ACS) is part of Consular Services, based at the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam. We provide assistance to American citizens residing in or visiting Tanzania, including but not limited to Passport services, Consular Reports of Births Abroad (CRBA), and Notarials. The consulates also assist in emergencies, including deaths, arrests and crisis situations.

In order to best serve our American citizens, we limit our American Citizen Services window to the American Citizen Services listed here. Questions about visa cases involving non-American citizens may be addressed to drsiv@state.gov (for immigrant visa cases), and drsniv@state.gov (for nonimmigrant visa cases).

U.S. Citizens with Questions about Non-Immigrant Visa Issuance

Consular Section does not have sufficient resources to meet with every interested party who wishes to discuss specific visa cases, and we therefore do not schedule meetings for this purpose. For more information about U.S. visas, please refer to this website.

Parking at the Embassy

The U.S. Embassy in Dar Es Salaam does not provide parking facilities to members of the public seeking consular services. The Embassy strongly recommends that those seeking consular services plan to utilize public parking, arrive by taxi, or use the passenger drop-off point located in front of the consular entrance to the Embassy compound.
