Ambassador Michael Battle welcomed U.S. Representatives, including Chairman John James, Rep. Sara Jacobs and Rep. Shontel Brown to Tanzania this week, where they visited Temeke Regional Referral Hospital and Temeke Ward Office to see the impact of The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) first-hand. The U.S. government supported program was applauded by the Regional Medical Officer, Dr. Rashid Mfaume, preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV and providing life-saving services to orphans and vulnerable children.
