On March 18, 2023, the U.S. Embassy partnered with Accelerate Business Group to organize a Women’s Power Breakfast with the Theme “Breaking Glass Ceilings” at Johari Rotana Hotel.
The event featured Women business leaders from across Tanzania who are on a mission to inspire and uplift women in the workforce space and entrepreneurs who are their own leaders in the business. Ambassador Michael Battle offered a keynote speech and emphasized that when investing in women and girls is like investing in the people who invest in everyone else. Some of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) alumni from Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo attended the event and showcased their products. The event was officiated by Minister of Culture, Arts, and Sports Dr. Pindi Chana.
